Store Manager: Ray Bley  
An Illinois native, Ray Bley has been fly fishing for over 15 years, starting out on the local rivers of The Prairie State and graduating to the spring creeks of the famed Driftless Area of Wisconsin. Saltwater is his current pursuit with the ever-popular redfish in his sights. No stranger to the Orvis family, Ray has been with us for almost a decade, and was previously our Fishing Manager at Orvis Chicago. Always in search of outdoor adventure, Ray’s travels have taken him to Wyoming and Montana, where he even witnessed a break-in of sorts while at a campground near Glacier National Park. The culprit turned out to be a bear, which, considering the locale, was just another day for the bear. The campers didn’t see it that way, with no one sleeping a wink until the bear was safely escorted off the premises. While Ray doesn’t foresee any bears wandering in at Orvis Virginia Beach, he does look forward to helping customers of the human variety with their next big adventure, whether it’s on the water, in the field, or anywhere out in the natural world.

Fishing Manager: Marcus Domson  
If following your passion is the key to a fulfilling career, Marcus Domson is doing it right. Although he’s held positions in property management, restaurant hospitality, and even insurance sales, it was fly fishing, a sport he’s loved since the age of 12, that finally brought him to Orvis. While it was a long path, Marcus certainly landed in the right place. As he told us, “Orvis supports me in achieving my goals in and out of the workplace.” As it turns out, those goals align quite well with one another. In the workplace, Marcus is the go-to guy for info on the latest Orvis gear, guidance on what’s best for the type of fishing you’re into, and where to go for the best angling experience. Out of work, Marcus can be found “chasing after something that swims,” with stripers being his favorite pursuit, due to the fact they feed in large groups and savor large flies. Marcus has fished from the Spanish Pyrenees to the flats of the Bahamas, as well as Belize, Northern Ontario, and other locales. At Orvis Virginia Beach, he looks forward to providing his customers with the knowledge and know-how they need to follow their own angling passion.
