Fishing Manager: Sarah Staib Sarah is a Vermont native and joined Orvis in September of 2012. Since that time, Sarah has been the store’s primary Men’s Department Lead. From November of 2014 to December of 2015, Sarah led the Flagship as Interim Manager. In February of last year, Sarah joined the Home Office team as Merchandise Coordinator Support in Creative Services Department before returning to the Flagship in November.
Although the Flagship has witnessed many changes over the past 6 years, Sarah’s support of the store and company has never wavered. In addition to taking on key responsibilities at the Flagship including planning and executing key store events, managing the store’s social media presence, and becoming an ambassador of the company’s 50/50 initiative, Sarah has also assisted with special projects outside of her own store. This has included assisting stores with SM vacancies and new store openings. She is a true team player-always willing to help where needed. In her free-time, Sarah can be found outside enjoying the beautiful Green Mountain State by fly fishing, hiking, and kayaking. She also enjoys curling up with a good book and her rescue cat, Shade.
General Manager: David Carlsen Dave comes to us having spent the last four years with Barbour where he was a multi-unit and special projects manager. In addition to managing their Factory Shop in Milford NH, the company’s Flagship store, Dave also managed the company’s neighboring outlet in Merrimack, NH. During his time at Barbour, Dave was a member of the Retail Operations Committee that collaborated with executive leadership to design and implement all-encompassing policies and procedures for the retail market. This included a joint effort with the home office to write a training and educational book used internationally for on-boarding and training staff.
Prior to joining Barbour in 2015, Dave spent nine years with Eastern Mountain sports as a Department, Assistant, and Store Manager. From 2012 to 2015, during the company’s restructuring, Dave became a multi-location manager for the Portland, ME and Concord, NH area. It was during this time that Dave found his “niche” for retail.
A native New Englander, Dave is originally from Massachusetts but has spent most of his life living in southern New Hampshire. He has a passion for cycling and other outdoor activities including swimming, hiking, and Nordic skiing. However, he can’t wait to learn the sport of Fly Fishing.
Fishing Manager: Josh Robinson Born in Annapolis, MD, Josh grew up fishing for many different species from the Chesapeake Bay to western Maryland. He studied Sustainable Agriculture and Food Production at Green Mountain college in Vermont, where he fell in love with the area and in fall of 2013 joined the Manchester Flagship store team. In his spare time Josh can be found hiking and fishing in the Green Mountains, gardening and volunteering for stream side restoration projects.
