Store Manager: Garry Clouner
Garry excels in connecting people with the natural world. In the spring of 2016, Garry founded GoWildPA – a grassroots movement to educate and encourage people to “get outside” via social media. Furthermore, Garry has been an instructor for Trout in the Classroom and a guide for the Yellow Creek Fly Fishing Classic in partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He has participated in local stream cleanups and volunteered with Project Healing Waters. In short, Garry loves working with people – helping outfit their every need.
When Garry isn’t at work or volunteering his time throughout the greater community, he enjoys hiking and camping in the mountains chasing native Brook Trout. You can also find him on his paddleboard chasing elusive Musky in the surrounding rivers of Western PA.
Fishing Manager: Rob Ranko
An outdoorsman to the core, Rob Ranko was born to share his passion for nature with others. Originally from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, Rob and his family take every opportunity to get out there, whether it’s camping, fishing, hiking, biking, or just heading to their favorite spots in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to leave the fast-paced environment of Pittsburgh behind. Rob grew up hunting and fishing, but it wasn’t until 2012 that he picked up a fly rod. It was love at first cast. Since that time, Rob’s perfected his technique, taught his family to fly fish, and now, at Orvis Pittsburgh, Rob enjoys sharing his fly-fishing knowledge and know-how with beginners, intermediates, and expert anglers on a daily basis. And if you’re looking for a few pointers on your golf game, there’s a good chance Rob can help with that as well; at one point in his life, he was a scratch handicap golfer and was even considering becoming a teaching pro.
