Store Manager: Andrew Hamilton If racing down the beach on an ATV in pursuit of roosterfish sounds exciting, you’ll be eager to chat with Orvis Haverford Store Manager Andrew Hamilton. For it was Andrew who did just that in Baja, Mexico, and as he puts it, “I cannot wait to go back.” The youngest of four boys, uncle to four nieces, and owner of a Bernese Mountain Dog and a yellow Lab, Andrew’s always had a love of adventure and fishing. As a youngster, he spent summers sailing off the New Jersey coast and around Chesapeake Bay on his family’s boat. A passion for fishing inevitably followed, with a special spot in his heart for stripers; Andrew has chased the popular game fish (as well as albies and tuna) up and down the northeast coast, from Virginia to Maine, for as long as he can remember. But Andrew doesn’t limit his fishing to just one locale, he also loves swinging flies for steelhead in the Great Lakes and casting dries to the wary trout of the Upper Delaware. And while a love of adventure runs deep in his veins, sharing his knowledge and passion for fly fishing with customers is what Andrew loves most, and he especially enjoys living vicariously through their stories. So, if you’ve got a tale that’ll one-up his Baja adventure, there’s no doubt he’d love to hear you tell it.
