Fishing Manager: Brian Marz
Growing up in New Jersey, Brian spent much of his youth fishing the warmwater waterways and saltwater fisheries of the area. While at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington, he continued his pursuit as he fished for bass and other saltwater species. But it wasn’t until he arrived in Eugene to attend the University of Oregon that his passion for fly fishing really took off, culminating in him becoming a fishing guide for nine years as well as owning his own fly shop. All in, that puts about three decades of fly-fishing experience under Brian’s wading belt, encompassing everything from Spey fishing in the Pacific Northwest for steelhead and stripping clouser minnows to tidewater Chinook Salmon to cruising the endless flats of Belize for permit, tarpon, and bonefish. It’s angling experience that he draws on every day while walking floors of Orvis Lake Oswego. His expertise puts him in the perfect position to help anglers of all skill levels and ages with the gear and guidance they need to pursue their fly-fishing passion.
